I guess you could say they spiraled (pun intended) into submission. I was like ‘ WHAT THE FUCK WHERE’S THE NEXT FUCKING PAGE!’ FUBARīut there you have it! Kirie and Shuichi are VICTIMS and NOT protagonists of this story. I was outright heartbroken and frankly a little mad when I reached the end. I firmly believe it is an entity beyond this world and like any other entity, it can be stopped. A CHEAT! If I were one of the inhabitants of the town and if I had Shuichi and Kirie’s luck and good fortune, I would have tried my best to unlock the secrets of that town and find cheats to destroy the evil Spiral. I was waiting for a big reveal of some sort. As much as I love evil I don’t like it when evil wins. I loved every bit of disgusting transformation. I enjoy the uneasiness brought by the Lovecraftian style of the story. The first 2 volumes were incredibly compelling and exciting for a horror/macabre lover such as myself. I have to say that it was a big disappointment. I already finished the 1st and 2nd yesterday and since I like subjecting myself to the thrill of suspense, I left the last volume up to tomorrow ( I also want to judge fairly). I finished reading them today and I initially started yesterday. I knew I had to give it at least a few hours before I could finish all of it. One reason is that I know much like his Tomie series, it’s very long and hypnotizing. Since I have almost all the chapters of Ito-sensei’s work on my computer, I never really had the time to open up Uzumaki. Is that really so? I asked myself countless times.
